Description

Newton's Rings are a series of circular bright and dark bands which appear about the point of contact between a glass plate and a convex lens which is pressed against it and illuminated with monochromatic light. This apparatus allows the study of these interference fringes. Consisting of a plano-convex lens, 60mm diameter and an optically polished (worked) flat glass plate mounted on a ring metal pressure frame with 3 compression adjusting screws for the proper centring of concentric circular Newton Rings.
